Adam Besnard is a recognized leader in the insurance industry with a proven record of building, scaling, and leading successful program administration, wholesale, and specialty insurance operations. With over two decades of leadership spanning both Fortune 100 business consulting and specialty insurance program development, Adam has become a trusted partner to national brands, franchise groups, and business owners by delivering innovative solutions that create measurable results.

Before entering the insurance space, Adam built a foundation in strategy, technology, and operations consulting. He began his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), advising Fortune 100 companies on enterprise transformation, process optimization, and technology integration. During this period, he gained invaluable experience across industries—helping organizations implement scalable systems, streamline financial operations, and drive sustainable growth.

Recognizing the need for boutique, client-focused advisory services, at 25 years old, Adam went on to found Galleon Solutions, a business consulting firm dedicated to guiding mid-sized and large enterprises through complex strategic and technology challenges. Under his leadership, Galleon Solutions delivered high-impact projects ranging from ERP implementations to business process redesign, building a reputation for driving efficiency, accountability, and competitive advantage. This consulting background sharpened Adam’s ability to analyze markets, design data-driven solutions, and lead high-stakes change management initiatives—skills that would later define his success in insurance.

Leveraging his consulting expertise, Adam entered the insurance sector in 2008 with a focus on transforming how programs are designed, distributed, and managed via Besnard Insurance which in 2024 merged with Shepherd Insurance. Today, as President of Shepherd Specialty, he directs proprietary insurance programs across multiple industries, securing delegated authority and carrier relationships that collectively manage hundreds of millions of dollars in premium. He has been instrumental in launching niche MGA/MGU platforms, securing exclusive Lloyd’s and domestic carrier partnerships, Lloyd's coverholder, and building technology-driven underwriting and placement tools.

Adam’s reputation is built on combining business consulting precision with insurance program innovation. His background in Fortune 100 advisory enables him to approach insurance not just as risk transfer, but as a strategic lever for long-term value creation. His passion and work ethic is unmatched. In addition to his professional endeavors, Adam is deeply committed to philanthropy and community leadership. He founded the Florida State University Fishing Society and the National Humvee Museum.  He also serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including Friends of the Children Tampa Bay (past Board Chair), LifePath Hospice  (Board Member), and Sunrise Shelter of Pasco County, reflecting his dedication to strengthening both business and community ecosystems.

He has been married to his wife, Mindee, for over 25 years and they have three children Julie, Brooke, and Tyler.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with the family in the Florida Keys.
